We aren't building an ark yet...
Yeah, it's pretty wet here. In the last three 24-hour periods our rain gauge measured: 5in, 3in, 1in. So it's been slacking, but that five-incher was pretty nuts!
There are four units in our building—two basements under two main-floor units. We're in one basement. The other basement flooded and the guy has to live at a hotel for a few days! "Flooded" may be an exaggeration—water came running through one of the walls and got a bunch of stuff wet, probably including carpet.
So far, all is dry here. Well, except for the air. I should say that we've been running the a/c a fair amount—not to lower the temperature so much as to wring some of the moisture out of the air! 80 degrees with over 90% humidity is just not very comfortable to be in, or especially to sleep in. Not for this arid-climate creature! I can tell when it's really humid because all of the paperback books start getting wavy-like.
